The the time is ripe to deploy a 4G LTE network in Viet Nam and this can
not be delayed, said former deputy minister of Information and
Communications Le Nam Thang.
The Ministry of Information and Communications will grant a 4G LTE
licence in the second half of this year, Deputy Minister Phan Tam said
at a meeting on Wednesday.
Viet Nam hopes to see 3G and 4G networks covering 95 per cent of
residential homes by 2020, according to Deputy Minister of Information
and Communications Phan Tam.
Lumitel – a brand of the military-run telecommunication group Viettel in
Burundi – has become the first 4G LTE service provider in the African
country.
Le Nam Thang, former deputy minister of Information and Communications,
advised network providers to make a careful calculation on the demand
for 4G (fourth-generation network) implementation.
The Ministry of Information and Communications plans to launch 4G - the
fourth generation of mobile telecom technology - in Viet Nam in 2015,
Deputy Minister Le Nam Thang said.
